Swine Flu

Anyone following the Swine Flu Drama?

Personally I think th media is blowing this way out of proportion. It is sad and tragic that people have died from this, but c'mon... how many people die from other strains of flu every year? Yes, this is a particularly nasty one and yes, I am glad the CDC and the government are concerned and keeping tabs on it... it is their job afterall, but relax people. We aren't ALL going to die from this.

HERE are the facts on this illness direct from The Centers for Disease Control. According to them the best thing everyone can do is follow their momma's advice: Cover your mouth when you cough, wash your hands often, don't pick your nose (or touch your face) and stay home if you are sick.

And no, you can't get this illness from eating pork so enjoy your bacon folks! If the media is to be believed, this may be your last chance to do so.

Books M.I.A

During our move I have discovered two books of mine have gone missing... I am pretty sure I lent them to people but I can't remember who I lent them to. They are Coraline by Neil Gaiman and Quicksilver & Shadow by Charles de Lint. If anyone has them please let me know.

Creep Factor 12

I haven't had much to say lately, but I have had these fleeting thoughts float through my head at random moments lately and when it happens I haven't been in a position to write them down. I will try to remeber them as I think of them, in the meantime, here's this:

- Men with longs nails are creepy. Don't trust them.

I am totally creeped out but men with long nails. And by long I mean anything visibly sticking out of the top of ones finger. Last night at work I saw a man fish something out of his wallet with fingernails so long his mannerisms were not unlike a woman with fresh fingernail polish on, delicately plucking a card from their wallet while trying not to mess up the fresh layer of lacquer. Not sexy guys... and it's icky-creepy. Trim those claws will ya!
