Papercraft!!!
This is a post I've been meaning to compile for a while now and since many of you will have kiddo's to entertain this week here is a relatively cheap way to keep them busy for HOURS. You'll need a computer with a printer, some heavy printer paper or cardstock, scissors and some gluesticks. And make sure you have lots of ink in your printer! Click on the links below for some delightfully cool papercraft projects!
- Cubeecraft 0f Lots of cute cube characters here! I made Hellboy for Ron and it took over an hour! You can even make Barack Obama!
- Droidal! - Yes, an R2D2 dreidal.
- Fake CCTV Camera - Nude Magazine (project is SFW and kids, explore rest of the site at your own risk) has this fun little fake CCTV camera you can make and put somewhere as a prank or to fool thieves.
- Paperinside has a bunch of different projects. You might have to dig around this site and the projects look kind of difficult.
- Spitefuls Disaster Dioramas - Make your own sinking Titanic!
- The Samaritan - Make your replica of Hellboy's trusty sidearm. The directions are in Japanese and this one might be best for grownups.
- Thunderpanda - Lot's of weird, cute little characters to make.
- Pinhole Camera - And the damn thing works too!
- CreativeTechs - Too many cool projects here... paper coffins, a paper turkey, paper iPhone and more! Paper zombies anyone?
- THIS SITE looks like it's in Portuguese, but could be fun.
- iPhone Dock - This one is for grown ups, unless the kids have their own iPhones.
- foldUScandidate - Finger puppets of presidential candidates.
- Turkey - Another turkey, this is still alive.
- Halloween Paper Toys
- Paperkraft.net - Mario Cap, Gundam and more!
- Paper Picture Frame
- Netflix Origami
- Another Pinhole Camera! - Directions not in English.
- Paper Toy'z - More cute and strange ones.
- Scientists - Einstein anyone?
- Moneygami - origami with money.
- Haunted Dimension - a 3D tribute to Hollywood's haunted mansions. Now with a Bates House replica of the classic movie mansion. These look wicked hard.
- Animals and Bugs!
- Foldplay - Fold to your hearts content!
If anyone makes anything from this list I'd love to see photos. Have fun!

I can't knit. And don't try to teach me... it ain't happening. Many have tried and I simply cannot wrap my head around it.
But that doesn't eman I can't appreciate the skill required to do THIS.

Messing about in Photoshop...

I'm experimenting in Photoshop. This isn't quite done... but it's close. Someone once told me better is the enemy of good and I'm creeping up on enemy territory here. It's a composite of 4 different photos I have taken. I'll post to Flickr shortly but I thought I would share with y'all first. Sharon, I'm not sure I have your current email address... drop me a line and I'll email you the final version.
I think it's finished. See HERE.
Boston Police: Inept Buffoons or Evil Genuises?
Last Friday Carrie and I went to see the Shepard Fairey exhibit at the ICA in Boston. It's a marvelous show and once again I highly recommend y'all try to see it.The next day I hear on the radio that Shepard had been arrested on two outstanding warrants on his way in to the the big opening of the exhibit the night before. An event he was supposed to be dj'ing and celebrating his career thus far.
Ron says to me that he was just photographed a few days prior to this with Mayor Menino. They also had ample oppurtunity to arrest him at different speaking engagements and press conferences in the days prior to the opening of the exhibit. Hmmm... I thought to myself, well, Boston Police don't have the best track record of handling this sort of thing... a certain light up finger waving cartoon stunt comes to mind... I wonder what's up with that?
Then I stumble upon THIS ARTICLE tonight that makes a whole lot of sense. And not in a good way. This article is pure speculation but it's scary to think the authorities could attempt to pull a stunt like this. Damn scary.
So did it take them weeks to catch up with him because they are bumbling idiots or are they wikked smaht in a terrifying Orwellian sort of way?

New Photos!
Well, I'm freakin' exhausted. And cranky. Damn hormones... but I also worked and played hard the last couple of days. It's also a full moon... hmm....
I spent Friday on and adventure in Boston with Carrie. First we went to the ICA to see the new Shepard Fairey exhibit. That was awesome and I want to go again with Ron. You should go too. We weren't allowed to take photos of the exhibit, which is sort of ironic if you know the nature of this guys work, but we did find a few examples of his work on the streets of Boston.
Then we went to Fenway Park and froze our patooties off waiting for the trucks to leave for spring training. Baseball isn't my cup of tea, (go Bruins!) but it was in interesting photo experience and it got me out of the house. Click below to see photos.

Then yesterday at work we had the biggest event we've ever had. We hosted best-selling author Greg Mortenson and a crowd of 1500+ people. Click below to see those photos, and if you haven't already read the book I highly recommend it.

Carrie's photos from the same event can be seen HERE.
Who's that hot blonde chick clutching all that kettlecorn?
I totally forgot about this...
And yes, I miss you Velma! I need KETTLECORN!!!!

Really Fucking NSFW, If You Know What I Fuckin' Mean... Fuck.
It was only a matter of time... and not much time at that. I give you The Christian Bale Soundboard.
In other news, Alice Cooper is 61 years old today. I don't know how old his doll is.
Katy Perry
Another performer that I mentioned to freinds this weekend was Katy Perry. She's very different from Sigur Ros and just plain fun in a rather girly way. See for yourself.

In other news... the READ posters I did to promote the Framingham Reads Together program are on display at The Framingham Public Library for the month of February.
Sugur Ros
The other night the topic of music came up and a few performers were discussed. Sigur Ros was one of them. A coworker of Ron's from Newbury Comics recommended them to us years ago and I didn't take to them right away. Then they contributed a song to The Life Aquatic soundtrack that I fell in love with. I recently came upon one of their albums at work and now I am truly in love with them. I have included a few songs below for your enjoyment. Not only are they great songs but they are beautifully shot too.
And THIS ONE which is a great song, but the video is not safe for work. Probably not appropriate for children as well but I'll let y'all be the judge of that. Frankly I think it would be fun to run around the woods nekkid, but that's just me. See more videos HERE.
