A Little Halloween Fun

Sleep Well Old Friend

Scott J. Metcalf
1972 - 2008

Oddly enough this photo was taken on Halloween about 20 years ago. I choose to remember him with this cute, goofy grin on his face. You will be missed old friend.

Happy 20th Birthday Anthony!

What Does Your Taste In Art Say About YOU!

Your result for What Your Taste in Art Says About You Test...

Conscientious, Fulfilled, and Spiritual

The Renaissance was a cultural movement that profoundly affected European intellectual life. Beginning in Italy, and spreading to the rest of Europe by the 16th century, its influence affected literature, philosopy, religion, art, politics, science, and all other aspects of intellectual enquiry. Renaissance artists looked at the human aspect of life in their art. They did not reject religion but tended to look at it in it's purest form to create visions they thought depicted the ideals of religion. Painters of this time had their own style and created works based on morality, religion, and human nature. Many of the paintings depicted what they believed to be the corrupt nature of man.

People that like Renaissance paintings like things that are more challenging. They tend to have a high emotional stability. They also tend to be more concientious then average. They have a basic understanding of human nature and therefore are not easily surprised by anything that people may do. They enjoy life and enjoy living. They are very aware of their own mortality but do not dwell on the end but what they are doing in the present. They enjoy learning, but may tend to be a bit more closed minded to new ideas as they feel that the viewpoint they have has been well researched and considered. These people are more old fashioned and not quite as progressive. They enjoy the finer things in life like comfort, a good meal, and homelife. They tend to be more spiritual or religious by nature. They are open to new aesthetic experiences.

Oh, Be Still My Beating Heart!

I heard an ad on the radio this morning for a most wonderful sounding product: BaconSalt. Oh my fucking head, I need this! I must try this! And it's Kosher! And Vegan!

I can't wait to sprinkle this on tater tots or mashed potatoes! Oh yummy! And it sounds perfect for those dip me in chocolate and roll me in salt kind of days.

Happy Birthday Stan!

I overheard the most adorable, yet disturbing, thing said by a four year old girl to her father in the play area of the library tonight.

"No, those are blood eaters... they eat your blood."

Seriously, can I adopt this kid?

Happy Birthday Tom!

Merry Halloween!

Okay, okay, I don't really want you to spend alot this Christmas. I really and truly don't. So much so that we are putting out our annual offer to not buy us anything for Christmas.
Anyone who is related to us and doesn't want to spend a whole lot of money during the silly season and doesn't mind not receiving anything it return just let us know. We are more than happy to share the experience of saving a few bucks with our nearest and dearest. If you are related to us and insist on buying us something gift cards to Home Depot, Lowes and Target are requested.
As for our friends, we are all broke these days so don't you dare buy* us anything because we won't be buying you anything and if you give us something for Christmas you will make us feel like shit and well, that just ain't a nice thing to do to a friend now is it? We love you all to pieces and the pleasure of your company is all that we require this holiday season.
We will of course be getting gifts for the wee ones in our lives who are under the age of 18 years because frankly, Christmas without presents doesn't make a whole lot of sense to the the Dora and Lego set. It's as if Santa has betrayed them or something.
Now some of you think that mentioning the "C" word before Halloween is downright nasty, premature even, but I did it this time last year and have the blog post to prove it HERE. I thought about it early, planned accordingly, and we made all our purchases online over Veteran's Day weekend and had ourselves a relatively stress free December. There's alot going on in our lives right now which will all be explained in due time and I am all about having a stress free Christmas this year and I hope you do too. Please consider joining us in a gift free season again this year!
*And don't you dare make us anything either! Yeah, I'm talkin' to you Carrie!

Less Than One Month to Go!

I am so sick of politics... I think whoever is elected should pass a law saying campaigns can only start 6 months before the election.

HERE is an article on Bolivian Wrestling.

You're welcome.

In A Galaxy Way Back When...

Okay kids, I'm away for the weekend... and what happened whenever you had a substitute teacher in school? Why, you had a filmstrip of course! Or a quiz, but I'm going to be nice. Now settle down and turn out the lights...

UPDATE: There was supposed to be an old-skool Star Wars filmstrip posted with this but it isn't working... I'll try again later.

Happy Birthday Sting!

WOW! Is this proof that Sting does indeed bath or is this some sort of digital chicanery? I used to be really into him when he was with The Police, but then I grew up.
