New Show at The Library!

There was a last minute cancellation in the gallery at The Framingham Public Library for the first two weeks of July and they asked me if I could hang my photos again. I, being a glutton for punishment, said yes.

So I'll be frantically hanging photos tomorrow at the library if anyone wants to drop by and say Hi! If you missed my show in February here is another chance to view some of my work live and in person. There will be some old favorites and some new stuff to spice things up a bit. Sorry, there won't be a fabulous party this time.

Carol and I visited this wonderful place back in October 2007. She then took her husband Kenny there at the end of May 2008. Sadly this place burned down on June 3rd 2008.

Today was a fun day! Kenny & Carol had a Dead Gnomes Float BBQ today. It's a World of Warcraft thing... I have not played this addictive sounding game. I know myself and these games far too well and I know once I start playing something like this it's a very slippery slope for me and frankly, I got shit to do.

Anywho... Kenny and a bunch of friends play this online adventure game... think Wizardry on crack, or a digital version of Dungeons & Dragon's if you will. Yes, I realize I just dated myself with the Wizardry comment there. In this game you can create guilds of folks who go on missions together and they have this guild called Dead Gnomes Float and enough of them live nearby that they had a gathering at K&C's. We don't play this game, but we are nerdy enough to appreciate it and the culture around it.

We also had an impromptu birthday party for Dany (and myself and Yanni). Unfortunately there won't be any pictures of today's event from me because I did something incredibly stupid. I packed all my gear and was ready to go... however I forgot the camera's batteries which were being charged in my kitchen. Talk about a fucking amature... Well... I learned that little lesson and won't do that again. I'm just glad it wasn't a gig. Actually it was rather refreshing to not have a camera in my hands all day. I did grab Kenny's camera and snapped a few shots for his "Gnomies"

Well, I am full of meat, tequila and ouzo so now I should go to bed.

Airline Fees

So the airline industry has been having financial problems for years and years now. They have been competing against each other for your dollars. While flying has never been cheap the rates were pretty reasonable for a little while there.

Now with the current gas prices though rather than increase their rates accordingly they are charging folks to check their bags. Up to $25 per back in some cases. This is asinine.

They are not going to make up any lost revenue this way because folks are simply going to pack lighter and try to get away with bigger carry-ons. You know those assholes who block the aisle trying to stuff their suitcases in the overhead bins and then by the time you get to your seat there's no room left for your wee small bag? They are going to multiply until such behavior is the norm. And with bigger carry-ons comes longer security lines. And we all know how much fun that is.

I don't know about you folks but I can hear the death bells tolling for the airline industry. Amtrak anyone?

I am POOPED!
Spent all day yesterday at Georges Island in Boston harbor with Carrie & Jack, my friend Sarah and my nephew Dylan. What a wonderful day! I brought photo gear and shot the buildings, but I must get around to posting my trip there last September before I post these photos.

I haven't spent a day carrying around that much gear in a while and I woke up this morning in pain from head to toe. Then I went to my belly dance class and then to work. Like I said, I'm POOPED!

And yeah, I started a belly dance class. Today was my second one.

Yeah, I know it's too big, but It's late and I'm exhausted... it's worht watching if you LOVE Nerf!

Netflix is removing their Profiles Feature effective September 1st. That means Ron and I will have to merge our two profiles back into one or get two separate accounts to keep our separate identities. That's BULLSHIAT! That was one of the things we loved about Netflix... which says alot considering I can bring movies home from work for practically nuthin'. Ooooh.... this cooks my noodle folks!

If you use Netflix and split your accounts among different folks in the same household consider dropping them a line. If you don't already use this feature go try it and perhaps if enough people are using it they will change their mind. Heck, even if you don't use this feature but would like to have the option to use it in the future let them know!


Update: Apparently the ability to divide your account into multiple profiles has been disabled for a while now. GGGRRRRRR.....

Hi!
I am just sitting here typing for the sake of typing something. I don't have a whole lot to say tonight. So far I have managed to post something every day since January 1st. (I'm such a masochist.) This is a difficult thing to do when I've got nothing to say and tonight is one of those times.

Speaking of daily torture... my self portrait project is over in one week! I will be so glad when it's over and I'll write more about it when that day arrives.

And for a post that pretty much started out with nuthin' it sorta turned into somethin'... sorta...

Ice, Ice, Baby

FINALLY!
The air conditioning has been restored at work... Summer is sweater season at the library when things are working but frankly, I prefer it that way. It is far easier to get warm when I am cold then to cool down when I am hot. Heat makes me EXTREMELY bitchy. Bitchy enough that it takes several days for me to unbitch. Drinks may help so I'll be imbibing at a nearby watering hole after work tomorrow evening with a few of my likewise bitchy co-workers. Let the unbitching begin!

The only problem with it being cold at work is I have to listen to other folks whine about how cold they are and how they, mutants that they are, actually PREFER the heat. I find this annoying but it is a small price to pay for comfort. I actually have body fat so crank that A/C baby and pour me a cold one!

Things weren't quite working as they should earlier but all seems fine now. Unfortunately I have nuthin' to say tonight other than there is still no fucking air conditioning at the library. At least we didn't have the record breaking heat we had yesterday, but today still sucked donkey balls.

Is It Hot In Here?

So we are in the midst of a heat wave and the AC is on the fritz at work. Yesterday SUCKED. I believe I overheated... I rank 7 bottles of water over the course of an 8 hour day and my face turned as pink as the shirt I was wearing. It got so hot I was snapping at everyone and I couldn't think straight. I didn't know whether to throw up or cry. It's going to be even hotter today and I bet you a dollar the AC is still not working.

I really do not care for heat... I think summer is my least favorite season because of it. It's hard to breath and I'm pale so I just crisp right up. I get flushed and stay flushed and if I dare to brave the sunshine I burn baby burn. It's supposed to break this evening or tomorrow... here's hoping the weather folk are correct!

Today is going to SUCK.

I really have nothing to say tonight. I know, I've been a bit of a bore lately. I've been sick and "driving the red car" this week and now it's hot and humid. Humidity makes me cranky.

I cut my hair again last night... and shot a wedding with Carrie last weekend while sick. Other than that I got nuthin'. I'm gonna go put my cranky ass to bed.

I'm pooped!

I helped Carrie shoot a wedding this afternoon at Castle Hill in Ipswich. I remember running around here as a kid during the sand castle contests at Crane Beach and I always wanted to see the inside of this place. What a great place for a big fancy party!

I'm exhausted and I need to take a shower before I go to bed so I'll write more later.
