Weeeee!!!!
Spent the night with The Boston Derby Dames at The Milky Way Lounge in Jamaica Plain... we'll not "spent the night" but rather, enjoyed an evening with. They had a nice little fundraiser adn I managed to get us on the guest list becasue they used one of my photos for a flyer.
I am so totally deaf right now... too many more nights like this and the hearing damage will be permanent. I really ought to start carrying earplugs in my camera bag if I am going to do any more nights like this.
I really, really want to get my ass back on skates, but I think I am too old for the brutality of roller derby... my back hurts enough as it is, I really don't want to make it worse by falling or crashing into other broads at high speeds. I used to be rather good at skating if I do say so myself, but alas, that was 20 years ago.
I am so old.

Random Update
Yesterdays clothing swap went rather well I think. I ate alot of junk food and topped the day off with pizza and now I feel sort of gross, but overall I think a good time was had by all. Last night was the upstairs peoples night to host Home Church and apologies to everyone for the hasty escapes we all had to make at 5pm.
I overslept this morning and I have a chiropractors appointment in just over two hours so no time to catch up on schoolwork this morning... that's okay though because I think I'm in pretty good shape in that direction. This current class has been rather uninspiring and rather Photoshop intensive, but still interesting.
After much discussion we have decided to go to Scotland.
Of course the tickets are not yet in hand, but the decision has been made and Ron's parents have been informed. We decided to go for many reasons but mainly because we have always wanted to go, Ron's parent aren't getting any younger and we aren't paying for it. The only time I've ever left this country is to go to Canada and as much as I love Canada it isn't quite the same as going to a country that is not physically connected to the U.S.
The emotional costs of this trip are hidden, but I am sure they will make themselves known as July approaches. And I am sure there will be many stories to tell after this trip. In the meantime, Fraser just got back from his trip there and has many of his own stories to tell... track his ass down and ask him about it.
It's cloudy out so I think I'll go shoot some pictures after my appoinment... good moody lighting out today.

As of today I have been working at the library for 20 years.

Houston, we have a problem...
If you were offered an 11 day, all expenses paid, luxury accomodations all the way vacation to Scotland with your in-laws would you go? Would you go if it were organized by one of the more vocal homophobic, republican, religious right spiritual "leaders" of our time?
This is an unusual problem. One that needs to be discussed over drinks. ALOT of drinks.
If we say no we miss what could possibly the trip of a lifetime. If we say yes we get what could possibly be the most torturous 11 days of our lives, and I get some great photos. And don't forget the emotional strings attached when traveling with family. *shudders*
Maybe I could pretend I was a spy deeply entrenched behind enemy lines of some obscure battlefield and report back via this blog and my photos what really goes on on such trips.
Or I could feel like a whore and a sellout for gritting my teeth through any religious discussion that may arise while I enjoy my "luxury accomodations" And like a penis in the morning, it will arise. (I was going to make a religious joke there and say "Like Jesus on the 3rd day, but as far as I am concerned the debate is still out on that... and wouldn't that make him a zombie?)
And being a religious group of folks they are likely to be dry... as in no stops at pubs. Something tells me this trip would require drinks on our part.
I won't even go into how much school I would miss. And I don't want to miss any school.
What would you folks do? What would Jesus do?

I'm sick.
I have a cold.
Waaaahhhh!
No really, I have a head cold. Here's hoping it doesn't turn into something nastier which I am prone to this time of year. I got lucky last Fall... here's hoping my luck holds up. If I don't get bronchitis this year I'll forgive the gods for not letting me win Mega Millions last night.
We helped Alexi move into his new condo over the weekend... he lives in Franklin now. We also learned it's amazing how much stuff you can cram into a suburban. AMAZING!
I started seeing a chiropractor this week for my chronic lower back pain. In the past I've been pretty sceptical of the whole chiropractic thing, but my HMO covers 20 chiropractic visits so we'll see how this goes. Thank you Carol for hookin' up that introduction!
I'm also in clean the house mode BIGTIME. I'm cleaning out closets so lasies... stay tuned for another clothing swap coming soon! Drop me a line if you are interested in attending... probably in late March/early April. I'm planning a yard sale too for warmer weather as well and plan on getting rid of ALOT of shit.
It's gonna be Old Home Weekend this weekend. Ron's grammy award winning cousin Boo will be performing this weekend with The Klezmatic's at the MFA and the whole clan is coming to town. Should be an interesting weeked.
There is also Roller Derby this weekend in Wilmington. We won't be able to go this time due to the above emntioned family drama, er, I mean gathering we wil be attending, but I highly recommend y'all make an effort to see these gals play.
So here's the end of my quickie post... I'll add appropriate links later for all events mentiond above. Now I must get my sick sorry ass to bed.

Peace Abbey For Sale
Sherborn's Peace Abbey is for sale. More info HERE.I think the cow statue is great and all, but $160,000? That money could have been better spent, like paying some bills or feeding some hungry folks. A simple plaque would have done nicely.

Can you say Oops? or Look at this asshole!
This fellow has a total disregard for safety and those around him... and he walked away from this. Unreal.
