What did you get for Christmas?

Well, we survived another Christmas! Hooray! I have a sore throat, but that's another story.

The funniest thing I got for Christmas this year was a complete set of Franklin Mint limited edition collectors plates from the original Star Trek Series still in their original boxes with their certificates of authenticity.

Yes... really.

You see, my mother-in-law has a knack for finding the strangest things. You never know what she is going to bring home next. And while I must admit, there is a small, nerdy part of me that thinks these plates are AWESOME, what the hell am I going to do with them? I won't be displaying them in my home, but it seems almost a shame to put them in the attic and forget about them. I thought about actually using them as dinner plates but it says on the back that they are not suitable for use with food. With my luck they are covered in lead paint.

Maybe I should have a contest to come up with the most creative use for them? Yeah... that's what I'll do!
