Did I mention my TV kicks ass?
It's been 10 days since my last post... that's quite a stretch for me. The entry before this one I wrote and forgot to post... not that it was terribly exciting or anything.
So what have I been up to? Well, I had a rather shitty week at work this week but it's only a four day week for me and it's over so we won't dwell on it. Someone passed away at work which sort of has everyone in a funk and I've been inexplicably cranky and short tempered to boot. I can't even blame hormones! But maybe I can blame the shitty weather? Here's to a three day weekend!
Why is this a short week? Well, we are refinancing our condo and the closing is tomorrow. Nothing like saving a little money to perk up ones attitude! (that and buying a sexy skull laden halter top on sale, but that's another story) Ron and I have an IKEA date as well... sounds romantic, doesn't it?
In other news our TV was delivered over a week ago and if I haven't mentioned it already it kicks ass. Seriously. There will be movie nights in the future... Let the party begin! Ron just came in and told me he saw the most disturbing thing on The Discovery Channel involving some sort of flesh eating fish and the words penis and anus. I couldn't help but point out that he just saw that disturbing scene in high-def. This is why he loves me, I just know it.
I also just listened to a couple of really intense and really damn good books. I seem to get most of my "reading" done in the car these days. The first one is Tethered by Amy MacKinnon. It's a mystery revolving around a funeral home and while not a happy story I loved every minute of it. If you like Alice Hoffman you might enjoy this.
The other book I read was The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. This is another mystery, though I'd call it a thriller. It was a little slow at first but boy did it suck me right in. Rare is the audiobook that makes me look forward to my daily commute and this certainly was one. Excellent story and great reader. The next one comes out next month and I can't wait!
And I had an odd moment tonight at the supermarket... I get to the register and the cashier was one of my teachers. How thoroughly depressing. It was such a shock I just sort of stammered my way through the interaction. I hope they were just working there for the health insurance.
And lastly, if anyone ever offers to serve you minted carrots just say no. Trust me on this.
