Snow!
More snow is on the way... hooray.
They've already cancelled school in the town I work in. I doubt we'll close though so that means I have to leave early to get to work and as y'all know I am not a morning person. And I hate it when I make the effort to get to work in a snowstorm just to have them close early a few hours later and I get to repeat the trip in reverse. And I don't even have a decent book-on-tape in the car.
So here is my plea to the gods: I promise that if I don't have to go to work tomorrow I will get up just as early and clean my house. I will do all the laundry. I'll vaccuum. I'll swiffer. I promise!
But alas, I know it won't happen... I'll drag my ass out the door, drive on shitty back roads and get to work only to find all of the parking spaces in the garage will have been taken by the people who live in the neighborhood who don't want to get snow on their cars and I even if I wanted to park on the roof I won't be able to get up the ramp becasue it never gets plowed. And since they have declared a snow emergency I won't be able to legally park on the street. And then they'll decide to close around noontime and we all get to go back out into the snowy dangerous driving conditions and go home.
But I'm not bitter. Nope.

Is it as you imagine?
YUP. Parking sucks.
Hey, I think you forgot the /bitter> tag on that post.
When we had snow down here a while back, they didn't have the sense to cancel school, but sent everyone home early, putting a lot of people on the roads in the worst of the weather. They didn't run the buses, parents had to take off from work to come get them.
The high-schoolers who drive were forced to drive home in a snow storm, and they don't have enough experience to drive on dry roads. One wrecked, and there were a lot of very angry people, because he shouldn't have been on the road at all.
