Happy Belated New Year!

I posted everyday for the year 2008 and now I don't have to, but I have sort of gotten into the habit. For a while there I was posting nuthin' but goofy links, but at least it was something.

I've been more verbose lately and I think it's because I don't have a journal going right now. Y'know a journal... it's a book you write in... with a pen. I haven't had one in over a year and I am starting to feel a bit scatterbrained. A journal is a great place to get the mental vomit out of ones head and organize your thoughts. It helps keep the noise in ones head to a minimum.

I have been trying to figure out what to post to acknowledge the new year. Everyone and their brother creates year end lists, New Years resolutions lists, new beginnings lists, things they are thankful for lists and so on. And really, does anyone care? I would like to lose some weight but does anyone really care?

The only thing posting such lists accomplishes is that you make these things public and therefore more likely to follow through or suffer the humiliation that the four people that read your blog will know that you failed.

We all want to be happier, thinner, healthier, prettier, nicer and generally better people. It's human nature, part of the survival instinct even. So let's all raise our glasses to the most passive, yet quite possibly the most difficult of resolutions: to simply be better people!

I'll let you figure out where y'all need to begin.
