It's Still Cheaper Than Disneyworld

I graduated on Saturday! Yippeeee!!! Now to figure out what to do next...

To celebrate I purchased a bottle of Absinthe. I even sprang for what is supposed to be some of the best stuff available in this country, Lucid. I have to say the stuff isn't bad. I don't think it will be my first choice of spirits, but it's interesting addition to my alcoholic experiences. I was the only one among us to actually finish my glass, which I attribute to my deeply inbred tightwaddedness. (Hey, it's 60 bucks a bottle, I'm gonna finish it damnit!)

It doesn't make you mad or do crazy shit like the legends say but it will get you drunker than a 15 year old with case of wine coolers and quickly. I found the buzz didn't last long though and I got my usual bright pink cheeks and barely felt anything other than overly warm after a while. I think I'll stick to the Jagermeister as my booze of preference.

It tastes nice and smells even better. If you don't like licorice, anise or fennel stay away from this beverage. Any activity that requires ritual and paraphrenalia appeals to me. Something about it requires dim lighting, incense and poetry that was lacking Saturday evening, and that's okay. I wasn't in the mood to sit in the dark and watch roses die anyway.

As for adding a creative spark to the evening? Well I did start drawing a "family tree" of everyone I know and how they connect to each other. Whether or not this can be attributed to Absinthe I have no idea, but I had great fun doing it and it made perfect sense at the time.

I very rarely, if ever, feel hungover the next day because I am a smart girl who drinks water as she goes, but this stuff made me feel a little fuzzy around the edges the next morning and my mouth tasted like something crawled into my mouth and took a crap in there. Makes you want to run out and try it, eh?

In a nutshell, if you are looking for an interesting way to get totally blotto and have some time and money to burn, this is it. If you are in a hurry or don't have a lot of cash there are easier, cheaper and slightly less classy ways to accomplish this.
