Adult Swim Ad
Apparently this little fellow caused quite a stir in Boston today... a city wide bomb scare to be exact. I personally I think this show is stupid, but come on people! RELAX! It's not a hoax, it's a very clever ad campaign that backfired bigtime... or did it?
Yes, it caused alot of trouble, and Turner Broadcasting will pay a hefty fine, but think of all the unpaid publicity they are now getting. It's either the dumbest thing I've ever heard or the most brilliant. There is a fine line between stupidity and genius and there is often a whole lot of dollar signs behind both.
If you click on the picture you will notice that this photo was taken about 2 weeks ago, and the authorities are just freaking out about it now? If this were a real bomb there would be alot of dead people in Boston right now. Good detective work there. Nice.
And I admit, I wish I had found one. And I am bitter that they cancelled Invader Zim yet continue to show crap like this.

Hey Kris, just have to add thoughts here.
The bomb scare was CAUSED by the media and the police. Did we evacuate Boston...no. why? because they knew what was going on. if it was TRUELY dangerous and they did not send an alert the INSTANT they found one of those, the police would be in a lawsuit today. Also, the police and media drummed up the hipe for politics. 9 other cities had this with NO problems. why? because they knew it wasn;t a dangerous item from looking at it. Ponder how the police found all 5 in about 2 hours? you try putting 5 two foot square boxes in boston and ask the police to find them ALL in 2 hrs....I'll take any cash bet AGAINST them every time - you can even give them Jack Bowers from 24 to help. And when they looked at the first one and saw a circuit board, cables, and a battery....that WON'T EXPLODE! so why blow it up - don;t you want that for evidence to find the suspects??? At best it might fizzle out and cause a fire...maybe. so I deem this the bomb squad's exercise and training. This is what they get our tax dollars for, but they will sue Turner and win and collect the money......to reimburse us???? YEAH! money grubing, pocket lining, thieving sob's.
part 2:
where does the insanity end? what about parked cars left with a boot on them...can;t they hold bombs...are we going to start freaking out if we see a car parked to long in one spot? Is it going to be an "act of terror" to leave your car parked for to long because people might panic? What about recycle bins going to the curb a day early? and if you drive up to a hospital and jump out of your car and run in, are you trying to blow it up or do you have an emergency?
Being cautious and alert is good, even overly cautious might be necessary now, but then you have to have more forgiveness when being overly cautious. Slap the kid's wrists who did this, say nasty things about Turner, but drop it at that before we start gulags and concentration camps.
add this to the pool of info: word on the train today was the Mass state police may have even helped stop traffic for the people putting these up using a lift machine to get up to the wires to hang them. So is it the kid's fault if the police can;t get word to each other?
egads - when they founded this country it was understood, you might die for your freedom, and that doesn't just mean the soldiers. Yeah, it sucks to get injured or possibly get killed when getting on the metro each day because they don;t spend an hour strip searching each person who gets on for weapons, but that's what we chose with "freedom." We don't freak out over everything or we become Germany 1940.
