Clothing Swap anyone?

I just had an idea!
I am planning to attack my closet today... weed stuff, try everything on, and bag stuff up to get rid of. I was thinking what the hell should I do with this stuff? Then I thought, what if a bunch of us gals had a clothing swap?

Yes, I know we are all busy with the holiday season upon us, and my brothers wedding is not far off, but I thought it would be a good way for all of us gals to get together sometime after the New Year. It could be an alternative to our regular Saturday night thing or just a way to spend a Sunday afternoon... or if we can all get the same Friday off we could do it then. When the swap is over we could just throw everything that is left in the car and drive over to the thrift shop my mother-in-law volunteers at and drop it all off.

So think about it... I still want to clean my closet today, but I'll bag everything up and stash it away until 2006 if anyone is interested... or if you know anyone who is interested.

Later that day...
I have amassed the shoe army and of the 25pairs of soldiers I have dismissed 9. Farewell my friends... you have served me well.

2 hours later...
I completely went through the closet! I was BRUTALLY honest, because honestly... will I ever be a size 10 again? I haven't been a 10 in years so bye-bye hot magenta bustier and matching silk skirt. *wipes a tear* And then there's the size 12 stuff... some of it was um.. er... a little snug so sadly, that too is now in a bag. *sigh* Only one red t-shirt had to go though! I have yet to hit the dresser, which is full of fun old t-shirts, some new t-shirts and other assorted oddities.

I will hang on to this bag, and any other bags I fill until after January if anyone is interested in a clothing swap, otherwise I nop one says anything in the next week I will give them to the thrift shop, or to the first person who says "I'll take it all!"

If anyone wears shoe size 8 - 8 1/2 and isn't sqeamish about wearing other peoples shoes, give a yell or else those are going to the thrift shop this week. These include the Shoes of Doom.

I was honest with myself a few months back and they are up in the attic, so I'm in.

I was honest a few weeks ago but have no attic so they're already at St Vincents....but there's always more to get rid of so I'll put on the mining helmet and go in.

Is February to far in the future for this sort of thing? I'd like to wait until after B&A's wedding and I figure that gives everyone time to go through all their crap... er... I mean lovely clothes.
